Pet-Paw Styles & Options

Pet-Paws come in a variety of metals, styles, sizes, and shapes. This page will help you choose the perfect keepsake for your beloved companion.

Metal Types

Pet-Paws are cast in your choice of the following metals:

  • Brass: Bright yellow metal.
  • Copper: Bright red metal.
  • Bronze: Color varies from yellowish-brown to pinkish-brown. Patinas naturally over time, creating a timeless look.
  • Aluminum: Silvery, lightweight (1/3 the weight of other metals).
  • Silver: .999 pure silver.

All metal used is recycled whenever possible, sourced from plumbing parts, car parts, lamps, and more. Packing material for shipping is recycled as well.

Paw Styles

Come in two styles:

  • Relief: Pads and claws stick up from the metal. Default style for Play-Doh impressions and single paws.
  • Imprint: Pads and claws are sunken into the metal, like a paw track in sand. Made from clay or foam impressions, or as part of a Pet-Paw set.

Average weights: Relief ~1 lb, Imprint ~1.5 lbs.

Inscriptions

Each Pet-Paw can be personalized with a hand-written inscription etched into the back or edge. Most customers add the pet’s name, but dates and messages like “Forever in our hearts” are also popular. The surface around the edge is polished for a brilliant finish.

Pet-Paw Sizes

Pet-Paws are available in three size categories:

  • Small: Cats and small dogs, 2¼” and under, and all dog noses.
  • Large: Medium to large dogs, 2¼”–4½”.
  • Giant: Very large dogs and wolves, over 4½”.

Pet-Paw Shapes

The default shape follows the contour of the paw (an extra 1/8” around the pads and claws). Other popular shapes include:

  • Squares / tiles
  • Hearts
  • Circles / ovals (can include dog nose with a hole for keyring or hanging)

Display & Wear Options

Paw castings can also be made into pendants, key chains, hanging ornaments, or cabinet knobs. For pendants, key chains, and hanging ornaments, a small hole is carefully drilled into the top portion of the paw to allow attachment. For pendants, extra metal is removed from the back to make the piece lighter, ensuring it is comfortable to wear while maintaining the paw’s original detail. For cabinet knobs, the paw is cast with a threaded shank for attachment.
